As we all know, Kim Coates (Tig Trager, Sons of Anarchy) has had a love for motorcycles his entire life. But this past weekend was a milestone for the veteran biker – he made his first visit to Port Dover, Ontario on July 17th, 2016, a place where most motorcycle enthusiasts would be absolutely thrilled to go. Every Friday the 13th, the town holds a motorcycle rally – but that’s not why Kim visited. He had a much more special reason.
Kim made the visit to the Norfolk Tavern as part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Catharines; more specifically for the Thorold and District’s Ride For Kids Sake fundraiser. He even ended the ride with a three-hour meet and greet with fans, from 2PM to 5PM. Kim said, at the event,
“When I was a kid I had the most beautiful parents in the world, I was so lucky to have a mom and dad the way I did but I did see at a very young age how important Big Brothers and Big Sisters can be to kids who weren’t as fortunate as me. It always stayed with me.”
Awwe, we always knew there was a soft teddy bear beneath that tough, crazy, biker exterior of his. Check out photos and video of the Canadian-born Sons of Anarchy star in Port Dover below, and tell us in the comments if you were able to meet and greet with Kim in Port Dover last weekend. If not, have you been able to meet him at any other events?
This is the 3rd year Kim has rode to raise money for the Ride For Kids Sake Fundraiser. In the past, his Sons of Anarchy co-stars have joined him for the great cause.
