Rarely ever do we get to see the man behind the Sons of Anarchy music, so today we’re in for a very special performance! Curtis Stigers, the American jazz vocalist, saxophonist, guitarist, and songwriter, is largely responsible for the Sons of Anarchy soundtrack, and especially for the Sons of Anarchy Theme Song, “This Life”. Today, we get to see a video of Curtis performing the theme song live, in-studio at KRVB, “The River,” Boise, Idaho.
This Charming Life by Joan Armatrading
Sons of Anarchy Season 3, Episode 13 – “NS”
Ok, so there’s been some serious disagreements online about Ed Sheeran (Make It Rain, Sons of Anarchy) and his cover of ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis. Ed definitely went out of his way to make this cover truly his own – which is what we totally love about him – but a lot of people aren’t feeling his changes to the popular song. Today, SOA Fanatics, you get to be the judge.
The Black Keys – “Keep Me”
Season 1, Episodes 6 & 7: “AK-51″ & “Old Bones”
It’s not every day that you’ll find someone who refers to Jackson “Jax” Teller (Charlie Hunnam, Sons of Anarchy) as Dr. Charlie Hunnam, or that you’ll encounter a person who credits Sons of Anarchy for getting them through some really tough times. Usually, Sons of Anarchy found us wanting a Xanax, not finding positive perspectives on life – which don’t get me wrong, is what we loved about it.
Signs & Signifiers – JD McPherson
The Forest Rangers will always be known as the Sons of Anarchy band, having scored nearly the entire soundtrack for all seven seasons of the show, however, other artists contributed to the epic Sons of Anarchy music collection. Keaton Simons performed “Hero & Hell” for Season 5, Episode 10: Crucifixed.
I’m Eighteen by Scott Shriner & The Forest Rangers

25 years ago today, Edward Christopher “Ed” Sheeran was born – and on that day back in 1991 none of us knew that a star was born. None of us knew that star would forever change the Sons of Anarchy soundtrack, or go on to play one of the amazing characters in The Bastard Executioner. Today at SOA Fanatic, we’d like to wish the extremely talented Ed Sheeran a very happy birthday!
We all remember that Bobby (Munson, Mark Boone Jr, Sons of Anarchy), aside from being a SAMCRO biker, was also an Elvis Impersonator? That fact is perfect for today, considering that we’re so close to Valentine’s Day, and that Elvis Presley himself was the King of love songs. We’ve found a Sons of Anarchy tribute video that showcases “Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” by Elvis Presley, sung by Mark Boone Jr.
‘Dead Man’ by Battleme (Sons of Anarchy Season 3)
Have you ever wanted to learn how to play the Sons of Anarchy theme song, “This Life” by Curtis Stigers and The Forest Rangers? Are you a guitarist who loves to play covers? Who would have thought that the mix of Sons of Anarchy and AWOLNation would be as perfect as it is? It’s so perfect, it’s as if it was meant to be. That AWOLNation was made for Sons, or that Sons was made for AWOLNation. No, we’re not kidding, and we’ve found a Sons of Anarchy music video, that proves how perfect the pairing is.
Music of Anarchy: Coal War by Joshua James
From Season 4, Episode 1: “Out”
Plays as Jax (Teller, Charlie Hunnam) and the boys walk out of prison following 14 months of incarceration for weapons charges.
You seriously aren’t going to believe how incredibly cool this is. Bob Thiele and The Forest Rangers are solely responsible for roughly ninety-percent of the awesome music that came from Sons of Anarchy, and not too long ago, we told you about a new album they’ve been working on, called Land-Ho. It just so happens that they’ve officially published the music video for “Trying To Believe” ft Alisson Mosshart, from the album Land-Ho, and it features a few of our favorite Sons of Anarchy stars.

As Sons of Anarchy fans, “Make It Rain” by Ed Sheeran is one song from the soundtrack that we are guaranteed to never forget. The song played during the penultimate episode of the series, as Jax (Teller, Charlie Hunnam) struggled with the fact that he was finally able to make Gemma (Teller-Morrow, Katey Sagal) pay for all of her past sins. Today we’ve found an interesting cover of the song made famous by Ed Sheeran, done by a YouTube artist named Kiki Ireland.

Here’s an awesome fan-made Sons of Anarchy music video for “Rain” by Black Powder County. We’re huge fans of Sons of Anarchy tribute videos and this one has landed itself on our top favorites list. During her extended stay over at 8 Simple Rules, Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller-Morrow, Sons of Anarchy) played TV mom Cate Hennessey. It was back in December of 2002, on Christmas Eve, that Katey delivered a beautiful performance of “Silent Night” on the show. We knew she could sing, but this performance will blow you away. Continue reading ““Silent Night” – Katey Sagal”
When you think of the song Greensleeves, what comes to mind is a rhythmically upbeat, bright, happy tune. The song is widely used as a Christmas song, mostly for it’s joyful qualities. However, the version of the song covered by Katey Sagal and The Forest Rangers, specifically for Sons of Anarchy, is quite the opposite. Continue reading “The Anti-Christmas Christmas Song, by Katey Sagal and The Forest Rangers”
With as talented a singer as Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller-Morrow, Sons of Anarchy) is, we’re not surprised she’s serenaded us with some Christmas tunes in her day. We’ve found an especially beautiful rendition of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, performed by Katey herself. The song, written by Hugh Martin, was first-ever performed in 1944 by Judy Garland.

I was out on my porch having a smoke yesterday, and the church around the corner was playing their usual Sunday song list – or so I thought. I seriously love having a church in the neighborhood, just to listen to their music, and what I heard them playing this Sunday, makes me love it even more. As I stood there, I realized the song that was being played was none other than “Come Healing”, which was done by Leonard Cohen for Sons of Anarchy Season 6, Episode 1 – “Straw”. Check out the lyrics and take a listen below: Continue reading “Music of Anarchy – Leonard Cohen “Come Healing””

Are you ever just rocking out at home, listening to Pandora, or Spotify, or just cruising around on YouTube, and you listen to a song and think “Damn, this one would have been perfect for Sons of Anarchy”? Sometimes the lyrics to certain songs will hit you, and make you think of the constant pain and conflict for Jax (Teller, Charlie Hunnam, Sons of Anarchy), or the crushing desperation that usually came of Gemma (Teller-Morrow, Katey Sagal, Sons of Anarchy). If there was one constant throughout all seven seasons of Sons of Anarchy, it was the indissoluble battle between Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) and Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman). Continue reading “Badass Video Tribute: Jax Teller VS Clay Morrow”

One of my all time favorite songs from the Sons of Anarchy soundtrack is “Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya”, done by Dropkick Murphys. The band is an American Celtic Punk Rock group that formed in Massachusetts in 1996. Continue reading “Songs of Anarchy – Dropkick Murphys “Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya” Music Video”
My older friends call me crazy, but I think the version of Bohemian Rhapsody, covered by the Forest Rangers for Sons of Anarchy, is the best one out there! The song, originally performed by British rock band Queen in 1975, was written by Freddie Mercury and debuted on their studio album “A Night At The Opera”. Continue reading “Bohemian Rhapsody, Sons of Anarchy Style”
The Forest Rangers, the incredibly soulful band who provided the music narrative for all seven amazing seasons of Sons of Anarchy, have just released their own album on July 10, 2015, titled “LAND HO!”. The album, which was recorded during the seventh and final season of SOA, is heavily influenced by the outlaw biker drama. Continue reading “The Forest Rangers New Album: “LAND HO!””
As heard on the ending montage of Sons of Anarchy’s second episode of the seventh season titled ‘Toil and Till’. The song titled ‘Till It’s Gone’ is performed by rap artist Yelawolf.’Till It’s Gone’ is played during the last moments of the episode after Henry Lin threatens Jax to find out who killed his men and took his heroin and guns.
“I want my men, my guns and my heroin! Let me be very clear, Jackson. If that does not happen, the violence will not stop at the Stockton/Oakland borders. It will come to Charming. I will turn Mayberry into a goddamn killing field!” – Henry Lin

Lyrics Day is Gone
Take it back
I would take it back
For just another minute
Just another chance with you
Give it up
I would give everything up
Every last breath
Every first taste, for you.
Just to make it alright.
Just to make it alright.
But its too late, to go back.
I can see the darkness, through the cracks.
Daylight fading, I curse the breaking.
The day is gone.
The day is gone.
I ll just run away
like a child
from all them to you…
And now I see
my most constant mistake
is i don’t know what I love till its gone…
But its too late
To go back
And I can see the darkness
Through the cracks
I curse the breaking.
The day is gone.
The day is gone…
Its too late to go back,
I let the darkness seep through the cracks.
Love is bleeding, I curse my breathing.
The day is gone…
The day is gone…
