If you kept up with the very recent New York Film Festival (NYFF) 2016, then you know Charlie Hunnam (Jackson “Jax” Teller, Sons of Anarchy) and the Lost City of Z crew made highly anticipated appearances at the event – some both on and off the big screen – as the film had its first world premiere at the festival on its closing night. The premiere lineup at NYFF also included films The 13th and 20th Century Women.
Charlie, who has been incredibly busy filming several different projects, couldn’t make it to NYFF in person, however he managed to send a periscope video of himself wishing his fans a great time at the festival. Today we have an exclusive video, of the opening comments before Lost City of Z’s premiere, as well as Charlie’s periscope. The opening statements include film stars Robert Pattinson, James Gray (writer/director), Sienna Miller, Tom Holland, Angus Macfadyen and Ashley Edwards. It was from the 6PM screening at NYFF.
“Lost City of Z” centers on Lieutenant Colonel Percy Fawcett (Hunnam), an explorer who spent decades in search of a lost city in the wilds of the Amazon, at great cost to his personal life. According to reports, Lost City of Z currently has no distributor attached. Filmmakers anticipate a 2017 release, which would mean that the movie would sit out the 2016 awards derby. Check out the video from NYFF below, and tell us if you can’t wait to see Charlie in Lost City of Z!
