We’ve seen it hit the news more times than we care to admit – a dog lost its life because they were left in a hot car on a hot day for too long. Sadly, the news doesn’t just extend to dogs; as the temperatures climb, we’ve seen the same case scenario with babies and young children. Sons of Anarchy star Theo Rossi (Juan Carlos “Juice” Ortiz) has taken to twitter to remind everyone not to leave your dog in the car on a hot summer day.

“If you’re reading this I BEG you NOT to ever leave your dog in a car even for a few minutes. Rolling down the windows has been shown to have little effect on the temperature inside a car. You’re your pets protector, PLEASE don’t let them down.”

He captions in all capital letters alongside a photo of a dog in a car, that reads “On a 78-degree day: car parked in shade – 90-degrees, car parked in sun – 160-degrees in minutes. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG IN THE CAR!”

The post has garnered nearly 4,000 likes on Instagram in just 4 hours since it was posted. Check out the original post from Theo below, as well as a PSA on leaving hot dogs in the car on a hot day. We only find it appropriate to help Theo in spreading the very important message. Tell us in the comments what you plan to do to help raise awareness about this incredibly preventable phenomenon and help to save the lives of dogs!
