*SPOILER ALERT* This post contains mild spoilers from the Sons of Anarchy Series – Read at your own risk!*
Ron Perlman (Clay Morrow, Sons of Anarchy) gave CBS’s Queen Latifah a very exclusive Sons of Anarchy interview back in October 2014, and in the conversation, told her just how he feels that Sons of Anarchy mirrored some very real life shit. This interview was done after Clay’s character was killed off, and he gives some of his personal feelings about Clay and what eventually came of him in the series.
We don’t normally think about how actors and actresses feel about the characters they portray, and if those characters ever have a personal effect on them. How much of themselves do they really put into portraying someone on TV or in movies? How much of himself did Ron put into Clay, and how hard was it really for him to say goodbye, permanently, to the man he spent 6 years bringing to life?
Check out the interview below, and tell us in the comments how hard you think it would have been for you to say goodbye to Clay had you been Ron Perlman. We loved to hate Clay, especially toward his end, but do you think you could have hated him if you were him? We’re anxious to hear your answers!
