“Star” is set to come to FOX Networks in the very near future, and is now set to move ahead with the help of former Sons of Anarchy writer and co-executive producer Charles Murray. Murray has signed on to be the new series’s showrunner and executive producer. He worked with Sons of Anarchy from 2013-2014, and has an impressive resume to boot.
“Star” is set to follow a group of girls as they deal with the ups and downs of the music business. The new series from FOX will feature Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt, with Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady to portray pivotal characters on the show. President of creative affairs at 20th TV, Jonnie Davis, said the following about Murray joining the project:
“Charles has written in every conceivable genre, on shows from Sons of Anarchy to Castle to Criminal Minds. He literally defines versatility, and he brings a passion for excellence and a confidence to every project. Star is a huge priority for the network; it’s wildly ambitious and packed with talent from the luminous Queen Latifah to the bright young discoveries that form the girl group at its center. Charles is exactly the right showrunner to take on this exciting series and ensure that we not only shoot for the stars but actually reach them.”
