We all remember, and love, Sons of Anarchy’s Walton Goggins (Vincent “Venus” Van Dam), and that being said SOA Fans, we have a special announcement to make today. Walton has taken a role on The History Channel’s new military drama, ‘Six’, as Rip Taggart, replacing Joe Manganiello, who originally had the role. The Hollywood Reporter says that “production on the show, which had been briefly delayed after Manganiello’s departure, is slated to resume at the end of next week.” Manganiello has stated he’s departed from the role due to “medical reasons”.
The synopsis of the show, as according to The Hollywood Reporter:
The eight-episode straight-to-series drama centers on a brotherhood of modern American warriors — Navy SEAL Team Six — who take on the most high-risk military special-ops missions in the world. However, their 2014 mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists. Rip Taggart, once the squad leader of SEAL Team Six but now working in Africa to protect a small village from Boko Haram.
This definitely sounds like a show we can get invested in! It’s only an added bonus that one of our favorite Sons of Anarchy alums has joined the cast!
