The world has been abuzz following AMC’s The Walking Dead’s Season 6 Finale, where we all finally met Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and were left to wonder for another 7 months who we won’t see returning for Season 7. News is finally breaking about what new characters might be in store for the much anticipated season, and one in particular has caught our attention here at SOA Fanatic. Casting calls have opened for the character of King Ezekiel, and rumors are starting to float on whether or not Sons of Anarchy’s Rockmond Dunbar (Lieutenant Eli Roosevelt) is being considered for the role.
Ezekiel marks the beginning of the Kingdom chapter of the storyline, as he appears as a zoo keeper who protects himself from the walkers with his live tiger. Could you see Rockmond walking around with a badass tiger? Hell yeah. Rockmond has a solid reputation and history with AMC, not to mention his most impressive resume, which includes not only Sons of Anarchy, but Prison Break, Heartland, and more.
“The casting call does not outright say it’s Ezekiel, but by all accounts, this is who the AMC show is searching for. Here’s what the casting notice says: They put out a call for “Augustus,” a male in his 40s, who’s African American, and who’s flamboyant but nice. Sure sounds like the Kingdom’s ruler.”
