One thing we can all agree on – Charlie Hunnam (Jackson “Jax” Teller, Sons of Anarchy) is 100% perfect. He is a gorgeous, sexy, and will always be our first choice for eye candy. He can wear anything and make it look good, no, more than good. We love his hair no matter what he does with it, and we love his character portrayals no matter who they are. So, why do we hate so much on his natural accent?
If you’ve watched Queer as Folk (Nathan Maloney), or even Green Street Hooligans (Pete Dunham), you knew long before Sons of Anarchy that Charlie had an accent. While Jax was a purebred American character, Charlie voiced over on the accent well- so well that many of us were unaware of his true British roots until late in the series – Season 5 for some of us, or even later for others.
We’ve raised the question today at SOA Fanatic – why does every hate on Charlie Hunnam’s real-life, natural accent? We’re relying on you, yes you, SOA Fanatics, to answer the question. What it is about Charlie’s accent that rubs everyone so wrong? Why don’t you think it’s as perfect as he is? Battle it out in our comments section below – and if you need a reminder of what his real accent sounds like, see this clip below of an interview he did on Conan, back in 2013.
