No doubt, the Sons of Anarchy series housed an amazing cast of guest stars, and is one of the few shows able to boast a cameo by Stephen King. King, who portrayed Bachman, a “cleaner of sorts”, arrived to the Sons of Anarchy world on a bright red Harley-Davidson Road-Glide. He was, no question, an inexplicably strange character, who had, at the very least, a unique job that came with some very odd requests.
He appeared in Season 3, Episode 3: “Caregiver”, to assist Tig (Trager, Kim Coates), Gemma (Teller-Morrow, Katey Sagal), and Tara (Knowles-Teller, Maggie Siff) in removing a rather persistent problem from Gemma’s pop’s house. Stephen King talked of the character himself, saying,
I had a chance to act on Sons of Anarchy and I jumped at it [the chance]. I like to act—not that I’m much good at it, but I suspect most writers do—and a number of factors came together. I was in Los Angeles, where SOA films, to accept a library award; creator Kurt Sutter assured me that he’d write me a suitably nasty part (in various films I’ve been stuck playing a series of mentally challenged country bumpkins); most important of all, he said he’d put me on a bitchin Harley. How could I say no?
Truly, it sounds like Stephen King was given the offer of a lifetime!
Today we’ve got video of Stephen King’s cameo, from “Caregiver”, Sons of Anarchy’s 3rd episode of the 3rd season. Watch it below, and tell us in the comments what your opinion of Bachman is. Don’t you think it’s super cool that Sons of Anarchy was able to guest star the epic Stephen King?
