We’ve finally had the opportunity, here at SOA Fanatic, to sit down and watch ‘Billions’, the new TV series from Showtime Networks that features Sons of Anarchy’s own Maggie Siff (Tara Knowles-Teller). To date, two episodes have aired on Showtime, and believe us when we say that the opening scene of the pilot episode was more than enough to get your attention.
We’d like to take the opportunity to do a little something different than we usually do here on the site, and give our own personal review of how we think Maggie Siff is doing in her performance of Wendy Rhoades on ‘Billions’. Reviews aren’t particularly something we’ve done before, so we definitely think this will be fun.
As Wendy, Maggie Siff, so far, hasn’t strayed from the almost too quiet, over-calculating type of character that we’re familiar with seeing within her portrayal of Tara Knowles-Teller. In only two episodes, there are certainly more than a few parallels to the two characters. Much like Tara, Wendy is a doctor, and spends a lot of her screen time looking at patient files and intertwining into the lives of the characters around her. The major difference we’ve seen – she’s a fair bit more promiscuous than Tara ever was. If you’ve watched, you definitely know what we mean.
So far, we’re hooked. The show has great potential, and was easy to get involved with. We’ve created a gallery here, of the pilot episode of the show. Go ahead and take a look below, and if you’ve watched the show, tell us in the comments section here what your opinion is so far. If you haven’t yet watched, let us know whether or not you plan to (pssssst, Showtime is currently offering a free month of service, check their website for more information). We’re excited to hear your thoughts!
‘Billions’ airs Sundays at 10:00PM EST on Showtime. The show is also available through Apple and Roku devices, as well as for online subscribers.
