FX Network Lead John Landgraf is speaking up about the Sons of Anarchy Mayan’s sequel, teasing about creator Kurt Sutter’s committed involvement with the upcoming project. In an appearance at FX’s Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour, Landgraf said the following in regards to the Mayan’s spin-off:

Sutter is working on an idea for a new show” for FX, and he’s starting to re-engage with the Sons of Anarchy spin-off that has been gestating for a while. Sutter is not expected to write or serve as showrunner on the spinoff, which would focus on the Mayans motorcycle crew and would be set in the Northern California motorcycle club scene.

According to Variety magazine, Landgraf suggest to Kurt Sutter that he “take some time off to rest”, but Kurt revealed to him that he just could not stop writing. Reportedly, Landgraf is confident that Kurt will be coming to him soon with requests for a pilot order for the Mayan’s project.

While there is, unfortunately, no video of Landgraf speaking at the TCA winter conference, there are some images of him from the tour, as well as some images of him with the Sons of Anarchy crew that we’ve collected to share with you. While we wish there was much more to report on the subject, this is all we currently know, and we promise to keep you up to date on any new information we get in the future. Check out the photos, and tell us in the comments how much you’re anticipating the Mayans spin-off show!
