One of our all time favorite Sons of Anarchy alumni, Walton Goggins, who changed our lives with his portrayal of Venus “Vincent” Van Dam, has recently teamed up with Academy Award winning filmmaker Quentin Tarantino for what is already a highly controversial movie, called “Hateful Eight”. The movie is an effusive, three-hour long western film, that reportedly has Goggins feeling especially enthusiastic.
Goggins, who is no stranger to playing roles that bend societal rules and norms, first caught the eye of producer Quentin Tarantino from his days as Detective Shane Vandrell on FX’s “The Shield” – a show that was also written and produced by Sons of Anarchy producer, Kurt Sutter. This time around, Goggins will play Sheriff Chris Mannix. The character twist that Goggins is so well known for? Mannix is no ordinary sheriff, but a prominently racist one.
Walton Goggin’s costars for “Hateful Eight” include Channing Tatum and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is scheduled to arrive in theaters Christmas Day, 2015.
