We’d like to thank everyone who participated in the SOA Giveaway: Enter To Win An Autographed “Opie” Photo contest. We would also like to apologize for this contest taking a couple of extra days than intended; all of your stories were so great, we have been heavily undecided and needed the extra time to really decide which one would take home the signed Opie photo.
After much deliberation and super careful thought, we have picked…
as the SOAFanatic Giving Tuesday winner! Lori shared this amazing Christmas story with us:
“Our best Christmas was in 1993, just had my youngest daughter in November. Had 2 other children 7 and 5. The babies father walked out on us, I was not working, had no money. The real estate lady who we bought house from found out. Any way she took the older kids to Kmart, a police officer took them thru the store and they could get presents for everyone in the family. And this same lady showed up right before Christmas Eve with a truck load of presents for me and my children, had never seen so many presents. Was our best Christmas ever and have to say there are some very wonderful people out there. Now my kids and I try to help others with what we can, pay it forward as they say. This lady saved our Christmas that year, will never forget.”
Lori, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org that includes your name, address, and telephone number to claim the Autographed “Opie” Photo with sticker of authenticity.
While we wish everyone could be the winner, we have also picked a few stories we feel are most definitely honorable mentions – check them out in the gallery below.
