On October 9, 2015, Tommy Flanagan announced via Twitter that he is joining the award winning cast of FOX’s hit drama, Gotham. If you’re unfamiliar, Gotham chronicles the story of Gotham City pre-Batman, and James Gordon’s rise to prominence during that time.

While Flanagan, who we know best as Sons of Anarchy’s Philip “Chibs” Telford, has yet to announce who he will portray in the young series, he has revealed that it will not be the Joker. With his Glasgow Smile, the Joker would be the likely pick for Flanagan, however, we already know that part is taken by Cameron Monaghan, an amazing actor who is best known for his epic role as Ian Gallagher on Showtime’s Shameless.

Gotham already showcases the talents of Sons of Anarchy’s Lee Toric, Donal Logue, as Harvey Bullock, and airs Monday nights at 8/7C. I know I’ve started watching Gotham because of Tommy Flanagan’s announcement – let me know in the comments if you will now too. Check out the trailer for Gotham below.
