Timothy V. Murphy – True IRA King Turned Priest?

TVM 7-8
Father Ruskin vs. Galen O’Shay

We know Timothy V. Murphy best for his role in Sons of Anarchy as Galen O’Shay. He was the character we loved to hate, and was one of the main protagonists throughout Season 6. I don’t know about you, but I cheered when Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) finally put an end to him.

If you’ve been watching Kurt Sutter’s new series on FX, The Bastard Executioner, then you already know Murphy has been cast as a part of the show, and is portraying a priest, by the name of Father Ruskin. He’s appeared in all five episodes, and we’ve seen little of him in action so far.

In an April 2015 interview, Murphy, who is famous for his roles as the anti-hero, said that he loved playing Galen O’Shay, and never sees his characters as “bad”, per say. Does this mean that Father Ruskin has a few tricks up his sleeve?

Take a look at the Galen O’Shay vs Father Ruskin gallery we’ve put together for you, and let us know in the comments if you’re excited to see Timothy V. Murphy in the role as a priest. Did you prefer him more as Galen O’Shay, gunrunner and Irish king?
