** WARNING: Sons of Anarchy Final Episode SPOILERS Ahead **

Ed Sheeran is the guy who gave Sons of Anarchy “Make It Rain”, the unforgettable song that played in the penultimate episode of the series, when Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) killed his mother, Gemma Teller-Morrow (Katey Sagal) for brutally murdering his wife at the close of Season 6. Sheeran developed a solid working relationship with show creator Kurt Sutter, and now he’s been given an acting spot in Sutter’s new show, The Bastard Executioner.

In TBX, he plays Sir Cormac, an assistant to a mighty priest, and appeared for the first time in the fourth episode of the show. He debuted his sinister ways by commanding a man cut out a prisoner’s eye, in a bloody, messy, Sutter-themed way. The Grammy award nominated singer will own the role as Sir Cormac, with the character making recurring appearances in the future.
