The long-awaited two-hour first episode of Kurt Sutter’s new FX drama, The Bastard Executioner (TBX), premiered on Tuesday, September 15, 2015. The show stars Lee Jones, Stephen Moyer, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, and Sons of Anarchy’s own Katey Sagal.
Kurt Sutter himself tweeted before the premiere, saying “I’m not gonna lie, shit gets a little freaky.” He also said that “The time has come for The Bastard Executioner to seek his vengeance”, as well as “You will feel for Wilkin and fall for Love”.
Katey Sagal, herself has been transitioning from Teller Tuesday to TBX Tuesday, as Sutter’s new show is now in the previous time slot that SOA had for seven seasons. Katey portrays Annora of the Elders in The Bastard Executioner, a completely different character from her portrayal of Gemma Teller-Morrow in SOA.
