Who Is The Homeless Lady In Sons of Anarchy?

As I rewatch the Sons of Anarchy series, my curiosity amidst the recurring homeless lady (Olivia Burnette) is becoming more and more poignant. She first appears in Season 1, as a beggar outside the grocery store, and receives money from Gemma (Katey Sagal), who tells her not to “shoot it into her arm”.

She appears again just before Donna Winston (Sprague Grayden)’s funeral, having helped Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam), when he got drunk and passed out in the cemetery. We come to realize by Season 6 that she may be the ghost of Emily Putner, who was the wife of Gary Putner and mother of Brooke Putner (Hayley McFarland), and died in the crash that killed Jax’s father, John Teller (Victor Newmark/Nicholas Guest).

We begin to see a pattern with her; she seems to only show up in the series around the death of someone important, and many fans have dubbed her the “Angel of Death”. Others have began symbolizing her with Jesus, while many still cannot figure out what she means within the series at all. As you’ll remember, she appeared just before Jax killed August Marks (Billy Brown), and again right before Jax’s own death as well.

Kurt Sutter has been extremely hushed in regards to the character; he has yet to reveal what she exactly means. Check out this gallery of the character, and in the comments, tell us who you think she is.
