I am super excited for October. Yeah, it means the leaves are changing, it’s boots and hoodie weather, and time for that crisp air to touch your face. But, it also means that Crimson Peak, starring not only Charlie Hunnam, but also Tom Hiddleston, is going to hit theaters.
The official release date of the Guillermo Del Toro directed flick is October 16, 2015. It is about an aspiring author, who is torn between the love of her childhood friend and the temptations of a mysterious stranger. As she tries to run from the demons of her past, she’s taken to a house that breathes, bleeds, and remembers.
Charlie Hunnam portrays Dr. Alan McMichael in the thriller, and was the only member of the cast to have written the backstory for his own character. Charlie refers to Dr. McMichael as a “madly in love” character, and claims the inspiration for it came from similar relationships he’s experienced personally.
Charlie described the character as “a very kind of quiet, shy, thoughtful kind of stoic, taciturn, very learned guy who is madly in love with the female hero.” If that doesn’t sound like Charlie Hunnam, I don’t know what does.
