Bohemian Rhapsody, Sons of Anarchy Style

Bohemian Rhapsody 1

My older friends call me crazy, but I think the version of Bohemian Rhapsody, covered by the Forest Rangers for Sons of Anarchy, is the best one out there! The song, originally performed by British rock band Queen in 1975, was written by Freddie Mercury and debuted on their studio album “A Night At The Opera”.

Thankfully, I have a few younger friends who are less than familiar with Queen or Freddie Mercury, and I am the lucky one who gets to introduce them to the Forest Rangers and their magnificent interpretation of the song. The Forest Rangers debuted their version of the tune in September 2014, and it played on Sons of Anarchy while Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) brutally murdered Chris Dunn (Tim Park) in retaliation for his wife’s murder.

Music supervisor Bob Thiele referred to the cover as “the most challenging [and ambitious]” the band has done for SOA. The Forest Rangers are joined by the White Buffalo, as well as Billy Valentine & Frankie Perez for the track.

Do yourself a solid, and take seven minutes out of your week to give the song a listen. Let us know in the comments if you also prefer this version of the song over the Queen’s 1975¬†original!
